Well, of course it is a cat bed!! And just look how content the cat is. My second son absolutely refused to sleep in his crib. We finally resorted to creating a little nest for him on the floor -- he was perfectly content there. He's 21 now and still a little odd... ;)
malcolm sleeps there every night until 1am. that's when my frankie shift is over and dave's begins. malcolm knows this and waits until i won't be distracted. then he comes and sleeps with me - either in my arms or next to my head. i've never met a cat so affectionate (even if a bit hoggy about it at times).

oh and frankie has many "nests"! on the couch, on the bed..everywhere but his own room. we hope he turns out a little odd as well. i'm sure he will.
